of Lyons, New York and A, M. Todd of Michigan - were known
in their respective states as "Peppermint Kings."

the late 19th century, Black Mitchum, a new variety of peppermint
was introduced that flourished on the "muck lands" of northern
Indiana and southwestern Michigan.
